Steinker Platz, a pocket park tucked into historic downtown Seymour, is located at 212 S. Chesnut St. The park is named in honor of the late Sarah Steinker Stephens, who was a vibrant figure in the Seymour community. The site is a revitalization effort following the fire that claimed two buildings, located at 210 and 216 S. Chestnut Street, in 2009. The park features open green space designed for relaxation and recreation, surrounded by a beautifully landscaped border, which boasts a handcrafted Trellis at the park entrance. This tucked away gem adds a touch of beauty in between the rich historic buildings of downtown Seymour. Steinker Platz opened in April of 2014.
